This is a common sight in our backyard.  Normally there are anywhere from 3 to 7 at a time.  There has been as many as 14!  Bucks show up together and then, a couple days later, does arrive as a group.  Stacie says that it's girls/guys night out.  One day the guys were back here and two started playing reindeer games.  Their play fight lasted a while and I was able to get some great pictures of their antlers intertwined.  Unfortunately this was a few months before January 1, 2010 and I can't use those pictures for the blog (each picture you see is taken on the date posted).  I was talking to my son Tim the other night coming home from work and as I turned a corner there was a fox just standing in my lane.  I had to swerve to avoid making road kill out of it and I could see, even in the dark, that it was our "neighborhood" fox.  Tim noted that we "sure do have a lot of wildlife" at the house.  That is very true and on Sunday afternoons you can hear quite the commotion echoing from the backyard.  Our neighbors LOVE football (Geaux Saints !!!).  What animals are in your backyard?

  1. It's not really our backyard, but we can hear the sea lions barking early in the mornings when it's quite since we're just two blocks from the ocean.
