This picture is a special request.  The story behind the extension is that one day we received a knock at the door.  A contractor stood there saying he was here to replace our back deck.  We had no clue as to what he was talking about.  We called the president of our home owners association.  We were informed that our deck was identified to be replaced.  We asked that while they were at it that they expand it, add the stairs and engineer the structure to support a hot tub. It took another month of paperwork and permits but we got all three of our wishes.  Although we don't have a hot tub back here yet, (Stacie are you reading this?) we have greatly enjoyed the extra room and access to the back "causeway".  The deck houses a gas grill, gas heater and a set of patio furniture that makes relaxing really comfortable.  I enjoy being able to look into the kitchen at Stacie as she's working while I am cooking on the grill (it's not a Weber, but it works).  Where do you like to relax in your home?
