Snow has to be near its melting point for it to be at its maximum packing capability.  A gentle rolling motion will slowly accumulate enough mass to shape a traditional three part human inspired yard sculpture.  Most people will use coal for the eyes and a carrot for the nose.  Some will adorn their creation with clothes for protection from the cold environment.  Often you will see whole families standing guard in front of homes and usually in a stair stepped formation.  These were first built to celebrate winter and their continuing tradition conveys so much holiday spirit.  Have you ever made a snowman?
