I snapped this picture on our way out the door this morning. The sensor for the thermometer is on our back deck. The whole time I was getting dressed in the warmth radiating out of the furnace I was thinking about those poor souls who spent the night on a park bench, inside a cardboard tent, or under an overpass. Whether people are without shelter from a series of unfortunate incidents or through their own decision, it is with a sad heart that I imagine their miserable night's sleep. While I kept warm from the insulating characteristics of the comforter and pillow-top mattress, fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters were lying in a brutal sub-zero environment. What is the answer to our growing homeless population?
