It's all about perspective.  Today I received a phone call from a co-worker in Huntsville, AL who was so excited they were being released early from work because of a "snow storm".  He was having to hurriedly drive home "up the mountain" and across the bridge before the roads iced.  The whole time we were discussing our business I was thinking, mountains? In Alabama?  Well it turns out that there are 79 mountain peaks and summits in Huntsville.  The highest peak in the whole state of Alabama is Cheaha with an elevation of 2,382 feet above sea level.  I live at an elevation of 6,500 feet at the base of Cheyenne Mountain.  Pike's Peak is less than 10 miles away and it's at 14,110 feet!   Our Nepalese friends are saying Pike's Peak is a mountain? (Mount Everest 29,029 feet)  I find it interesting how throughout the day our attitudes are formed from perspective.  If you are driving cautiously and someone passes at a high rate of speed, your reaction is "Watch out, you maniac!"  If you are in a hurry and are passing someone who is driving slower than you, "Get out of the way, you moron!"  How do you see life?

  1. I'm the slow moron that's in everyone's way, but I'm ok with that. It's called the speed LIMIT.
