Groundhog Day 2010!    This strange American tradition dates back to 1841.  The large ground squirrel saw its shadow.  So, six more weeks of winter, except in Colorado it will be more like four months (we get snow in May).  Why were groundhogs designated as the indicators of the change of seasons?  How do bear find out how long to sleep if they are hibernating when the rodent makes the call?  The geese pictured here were just walking around the fairway across the street from our house and were not bothered by the Paparazzi (except me) and didn't care about the hoopla going on in Pennsylvania.  Why didn't they fly south for the winter?  (Why don't we make a big deal about them flying north for the summer?)  The warm pink clouds hovering above Pike's Peak caught my eye and they were gone in an instant.  I'll take four more months of this any day!  If you could live anywhere, where would you live?
