I watched an old western drama series re-run today while cooking some Gumbo.  There's something to be said for family friendly television.  Some people may look back and call what we watched "corny" or "old fashioned", but the entertainment never embarrassed you or stepped over the line.  There were a few shows that were the exception to that statement but mainly we were treated to half hour diversions that were suitable to all viewers.  Today television program content is so bad it has to be rated, not that the ratings mean anything.  Many commercials now are very offensive and invade our homes without warning.  It was refreshing to view something that didn't center around things you discuss in the privacy of your own home and didn't have any words replaced by a 1,000 Hertz tone.  Do you prefer reality TV or scripted?
