When I was around 12 or 13 a little boy came to live with our family and he touched our lives so very much.  His emotional, physical, and intellectual development had, for his first 3 years, been very limited so when he entered our home he was pretty much experiencing life for the first time.  One of the things he loved to do was visit the car wash.  It terrified him but he wanted to do it over and over again.  I guess that's the way a lot of people are with haunted houses, bungee jumping, and high speed, glass walled elevators.  As an old stand-up comedian used to say about roller coasters, "just scare me, don't kill me."  We eventually become numb to exhilarating feats after enough exposure to them, however, putting ourselves beyond our "norm" can get the adrenaline pumping.  What scares you?
