Our stove, oven, and counters turned into a test kitchen this morning.  One of the rules we adhere to is we don't try new recipes on company.  So we made all the food for our holiday party and "adjusted fire" as Stacie puts it.  A couple of dishes needed some tweaks but Stacie quickly made the changes and retested.  Our spread of goodies included Mini Beef Wellington, dates wrapped in bacon, baked brie, smoked salmon with crème fraiche, mini quiches, chips and dip, barbeque meatballs, mini chocolate brownies, meat and cheese rolls, and various candies.  The prep time took around 6 hours including testing and tasting.  Eleven of our neighbors came over for some food, fun and festivities.  The best part of the day was spending time with my soul mate in the kitchen.  What new recipes did you try today?
