These playful little guys live at the entrance to the Cheyenne Mountain State Park about 2 miles from our house.  There are several "towns" of prairie dogs that we can see from the car as we are driving around.  Stacie use to see them every morning as she drove to work.  They settled along the inside of a clover-leaf off of Hwy 115.  I would have never guessed that the tunnel systems they create help channel rainwater to prevent erosion and runoff.  They are very social and team together for survival.  I could sit and watch them for hours.  My sister Becky's ant farm was always fascinating to stare at when I was a kid.  What type of wildlife lives near you?
