The extent of the beauty of Colorado is breathtaking and this is scene is literally around the corner from our house.  In contrast, the Gulf of Mexico is going to be in for some rough times.  It is hard to fathom that the oil spill will surpass the Exxon Valdez accident in Alaska.  The devastation to the environment will continue to threaten wildlife long after the petroleum is stopped flowing.  Stacie and I have discussed the impact of this catastrophe on the livelihood of countless owners of shrimp boats, fishing companies and oil companies.  New drilling platforms have been forbidden to pump a single drop of oil until the cause of the spill has been determined.  We can only hope that the containment effort will be thorough, decisive and extremely successful. The industry that caused this mess should completely fund the clean up and provide total restitution to all affected and the price of a gallon of gas better not go up a penny!  With all the aid the United States gives to "foreign interests", what countries do you think will come to our rescue?
