Rain started to fall from the sky on our evening walk and give the grass, trees, and blossoms a cool drink of water.  Just as we were about to take shelter our neighbors front porch caught my eye. In case you don't know, the little white container is a milk box.  Many people prefer the taste of milk from a bottle rather than a carton and that is the reason these little boxes are still showing up on front door steps.  Companies still deliver eggs, cheese, cream, and butter to residents in the wee hours of the morning.  The invention of refrigeration and better packaging slowed the delivery of milk products to homes almost to a complete halt since consumers could purchase larger volumes without it spoiling.  Many memories of days gone by have disappeared from our culture due to technological advances.  When was the last time you saw a pie cooling on a window sill?
